LITTLE ARSONIST
CREATOR
CREATOR
I don’t have a design theory. Yet.
I could name my influences, but they will show up anyway. What I can do is try and explain how I approach design: I treat it like a song, weaving stories from everywhere, compounding and heightening the senses. I use the word ‘song’ not ‘music’ because I think of design as a subset of art, the way songs are for music.
I spend my days surrounding myself with great work, from the past as well as present. I do this because the artist Stanley Donwood says that individuality transcends from inspiration. My hope is that one day, it will take effect. I don’t always like the process, but I am always greedy for the result.
For now, I will step away from this introduction to look at pieces of magic, cry a little, and then walk towards my blank canvas. I do this knowing that I cannot create anything without giving a little.
